Firefly Moment:
I am grateful for all of the fireflies in my life that have made me smile in trying times but I want to share another special one to me.
Many of you know that in 2006 my brother was killed in a car accident. I want to take a moment to share how he was a firefly in my life. Oh he was like any other brother. We would have our
moments of fighting and then of him being the protector. We grew up in church and heard all of the stories from the Bible and just accepted them as truth. But we never heard the gospel at church. Never really heard that Salvation was a gift. And that we needed to make a choice to either die to self and accept what Jesus did on the cross for our sins, or continue to live for Satan and self. When I was in the 7th grade Tony attended an FCA event where he was saved. I did not quite understand what that meant. I began to have lots of questions and wonder about my own eternity. A few weeks later he took time with his little sister and took me with him to an FCA meeting. That night for the first time I heard the gospel. When we got home, he knelt beside me by our ugly 70's green sofa and led me in the sinner's prayer. Even during College when I tried to rebel, it was my brother who gently prayed and brought me back to a deeper walk with God. Tony was the firefly that introduced me to the LIGHT OF THE WORLD.
